Hi fellow bookworms! My name is Laila. I’m a 20 year old medical student, reader, book reviewer and blogger. And I’m so excited for this blog for a few reasons. One, I’ve been playing around with this idea in my head for SO LONG and I only decided two days ago that if I wanna do something, maybe just doing it is a better idea than thinking about it forever? Also, I stopped reading during my first year of uni. Yes I know. It was horrible. I’ve come to the realisation that all dropping your hobbies does is turn you into a ball of misery. Anyway, so I’ve decided to go back to spending time on the things I love. Which is where this blog comes in. I’m going to be sharing loads of bookish posts, discussions and reviews. I also really want to use this to connect with other readers.
So what do I read? I read pretty much anything fiction but my favourite genres tend to be contemporary, historical fiction, romance, thrillers, mystery, dystopian fiction and fantasy.
When I first got into reading, it was with The Rainbow Fairies series, Jacqueline Wilson books and simplified classics. Around year 7, I discovered the world of YA fantasy with the Cassandra Clare books so even though I might not read YA fantasy as much now, the genre still has a special place in my heart and I always love exploring it.
If I’m not studying or reading, I’m probably with friends or watching YouTube or Netflix… Or both. I also love nature and exploring new places so I’m hoping to use this blog to post about different places I discover as well.
I love chatting with and meeting other bookworms so feel free to connect with me on my bookstagram, goodreads or through this blog. Please don’t ever hesitate to comment on my discussion posts or provide different opinions. I want my blog to be a safe space for everyone to support each other and speak freely.
If you’d like to contact me for any other reason, you can use the form in my contact page or email me on firstname.lastname@example.org. Happy reading 🙂
